Day 223, Taylor Creek, 36x48"
Day 223, Taylor Creek, 36x48"
36x48” (1.5” deep) Photographic composite mounted on stained birch panel.
Layers: The setting is forest surrounding Taylor Creek in Scarborough, ON, very close to where I used to live. The sky is an image of malachite, a stone that represents positive transformation. Tiny golden leaves towards the top are from a plant in Monet’s garden at Giverny, one of the last places I visited before the pandemic. The green chair is one of my personal favourites; it used to be my “breakfast chair”, but has since been taken over by our cat. In the bottom right, there’s a small avocado tree, which my husband planted for me as an experiment. If you look closely, you’ll notice tiny points of light (Fireflies? Fairies?) - these are tiny Christmas lights, reflected in a TV screen in a dark room. To me, they represent tiny points of hope and joy.
UV protective varnish applied. Limited edition of 10. Two larger sizes also available - 60x40” and 64x48” - made to order.
