Day 198, Etobicoke Creek, 36x36"
Day 198, Etobicoke Creek, 36x36"
36×36” (1.5” deep) Photographic composite mounted on stained birch panel.
Layers: The setting is the path along Etobicoke Creek in the west end of Toronto. The sky is an image of ice, which my young nephew showed me near his home in Eastern Ontario. He thought it was cool how the ice had frozen bubble shapes, and they remind me of clouds. The chair was a curbside find years ago - missing a seat, so my husband wove one into it using twine. On top of this, I’ve added moss, which was an image from a walk in the Rouge Valley at the east end of Toronto. If you look closely, you’ll notice tiny points of light (Fireflies? Fairies?) - these are tiny Christmas lights, reflected in a TV screen in a dark room. To me, they represent tiny points of hope and joy.
UV protective varnish applied. Limited edition of 10. Also available as 40×40”.
